The study program (PS) for Bachelor of Actuarial Science at UB is a continuation of the Actuarial interest program in PS S1 Mathematics, Department of Mathematics, UB which has been established since 1987. Actuarial courses have been offered since 2003 in the Department of Mathematics UB, which at that time still managed two study programs. , namely PS S1 Mathematics and S1 Statistics. The subject is Insurance Mathematics, and this course is the forerunner of further development for Insurance Mathematics I and II courses in PS S1 Mathematics. Other specialization courses offered are Risk Theory, Financial Mathematics, Economics and Business Mathematics, and Probabilistic and Stochastic Capita Selecta.
In 2017, UB Mathematics Department has collaborated in education with the Indonesian Actuary Association (PAI), especially in terms of equalizing the courses offered by the UB Mathematics Department with the PAI certification exams, so that students who have taken several courses with certain conditions can get a certificate. certain competencies in PAI. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding the equalization of the actuary professional exam includes:

Research related to the Actuarial field has been initiated since 2004 in the form of research for student final assignments (S1) and research with UB funding sources carried out by lecturers who are in charge of Actuarial specialization courses.
