Algebra is a branch of Mathematics that discusses sets, relations and structures. The basic concept of algebra is an operation on numbers which is then developed until an equation appears with a variable and a way to find a solution. In the Algebra Laboratory, this concept is discussed more abstractly with groups, rings, fields, and others, or commonly referred to as Abstract Algebra (Modern Algebra).
Universitas Brawijaya Algebra Laboratory consists of 6 Mathematics Lecturers, namely:

4. Dr. Vira Hari K., S.Si, M.Sc
5. Dwi Mifta Mahanani, S.Si, M.Si
6. Dr. Darmajid, S.Si, M.Si

The research plan in this laboratory leads to several topics in Algebra. Some of these topics are Module Theory, Fuzzy Group Theory, Graph Theory, Ring Theory and applications of Linear Algebra in certain fields. The focus of this research is also flexible, namely adapting to student interests and current topics in the world of Algebra.
In general, the laboratory activity plans are a series of online and offline public lectures, regular discussions, and guiding students to conduct joint research related to the development of topics in Algebra. With the hope, lecturers and students will be able to play an active role in national and international seminars.
Regarding the algebra laboratory community service program, we designed a roadmap that has been adjusted to the roadmap of the Mathematics Department and the roadmap of FMIPA UB. This is also supported by the cooperation with several universities and local governments in Indonesia.
